Equivalency Courses
Equivalency Courses
An "equivalency course" is a course at the high school level that will satisfy two graduation requirements. The
credit amount will only be awarded once toward the total credit count, but the course will satisfy the graduation
requirements in two different curriculum areas.
Important points to remember:
1. An equivalency course must be completed in its entirety in order for "equivalency credit" to be granted.
2. An equivalency course may not satisfy a college admission requirement. Students and parents will need
to check with individual colleges for clarification.
3. No course will be worth more than the credit it has been assigned.
