Ballou Principal Weekly Message

 Hello Bruin Families,

Despite the recent building closure, more and more of us are settling into a remote learning routine. Regardless of staff on campus or not, we consistently monitor the phone lines. So, if you are looking for tech support, food distribution information, or are having difficulty contacting a teacher, please call our Main Office at 253-841-8725. Monday’s live, required class is Bruin Time Homeroom from 10-11am. Tuesday- Friday live classes are from 9am – 12pm. Attendance counts in all live classes!!!

  • School News

Thank you for the completing the recent PSD survey regarding a pivot from remote learning to a hybrid schedule. We will use this data to design a socially distance safe learning environment. There is no decision on when secondary schools pivot to Hybrid A/B schedule. We will not make any changes before November 3.

  • Reminder that masks and a COVID19 healthy questionnaire are required before anyone enters the building.
  •
    • Any current 8th or 9th grade student who kept their 1:1 device over the summer and would like to purchase the Puyallup Protection Plan (P3) for the 20-21 school year must do so by September 30th. The plan will not be available after that date and students/parents/guardians will be responsible for all damages to the computer for the remainder of the 20-21 school year.
    •
    • IMPORTANT - Students will not be allowed to login as "Guests". As a student/parent or guardian working from a home computer, you need to run the "Teams App Installer" in the "Company Portal". Doing so will load Teams on any device that doesn't have it yet. (see directions hereHow to Install Microsoft Teams App.docx). If students are using Teams and it still says "Guest", they need to logout, then login using their district email and password. Another way to login would be to go to portal.office.com and login using the district email and password. If you continue to have problems logging in, please contact EdTec at 253-841-8600..
  •
  • Support Center Students and Special Education small groups will begin on campus instruction on Sept 29.
  •
  • Weekly food boxes may be picked up (with /without your student) on Sept 21, between 11am-12pm.

  • We have received several generous donations for school supplies. Our counselors and Bruin Time homeroom teachers will be reaching out to those that indicated a need for assistance with school supplies.
  •
  • Art/Ceramic supplies still available for pick up in Main Office.
  •
  • Culinary Essentials/Intro Culinary Kits  Please come to the bus loop, near the Green Gate on Monday, Sept 21 from 2-7pm to pick up these boxes. If you can’t make it then, please call to set up a pick up time. Or contact Mrs. Sturdivant or Mrs. Williams.
